Whatsapp’s Influence On African and Urban Communication Satisfaction: The Case of Cameroon

In Africa in general and in Cameroon in particular, WhatsApp has become one of the most widely used communication platforms in recent years. By combining TAM theory and relevant variables selected from the literature review on social network adoption, this paper aims to analyze the impact of WhatsApp on African and urban communication, specifically on Cameroonian communication satisfaction. The data collection takes place online with questionnaires on Google forms. Finally, we got 161 WhatsApp users in Cameroon. The data analysis process takes place with the PLS-SEM method with SmartPLS and XLSTAT software. The SmartPLS software serves that analysis of the primary structural model and SLSTAT software for the random groups' analysis. The results of this study based on our hypotheses overall show that WhatsApp positively influences the satisfaction of Cameroon communication. These results advance the theory and contribute to future research on WhatsApp adoption and usage.
