Evaluation of A Guidance and Tutoring Recommendation System

The new digital era has forced many of the services within the university context to be offered virtually. That is also the case with mentoring and mentoring. To respond to this new challenge, TIMONEL was born, a recommendation system (RS) capable of responding to the needs in university orientation of undergraduate, postgraduate and university graduates. This study analyzes the trajectory of the project from the beginning, focusing on its last evaluation phase where users' evaluations of the SR are attended to. A total of 487 students from the Universities of Jaen and Granada (Spain) and the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (Portugal) participated. In the results, significant differences can be perceived with respect to sex in the different values, being the male gender more critical in this case. On the other hand, no significant relationship is seen in the SR evaluations with reference to participation in the Tutorial Action Plan. Finally, the fact of belong-ing to one or another university also influences the evaluations made to the SR. In conclusion, a positive evaluation of the SR is noted as a good university advisory tool.
