Determinants of Mobile Wallet Adoption: A Longitudinal Approach Applying An Extension of The Technology Acceptance Model In Cameroon

This study develops and tests a modified technology acceptance model (TAM) to assess Cameroon's key determinants of mobile wallet (m-wallet) adoption. The proposed research model is tested using a longitudinal approach with data collected in two phases: December 2019 for the first phase and March and April 2021 for the second phase during the COVID-19. Data analysis was realized using the partial least squares structural equation modeling. Also, a multi-group analysis was conducted to assess the differences between the datasets collected from the two phases of the study. The results provide strong support to seven out of the eight proposed hypotheses. They also detected differences in the two datasets with only one significant difference. Finally, implications for research and practice are presented and discussed.
