A Must Have: Customized Ways To Go For Data Literacy To Further Valuable Deliverables

Data availability has been growing exponentially with digital transformation, im-pacting individuals, who need to suit, learn, be familiar with, and use these data to survive with quality in this new digital era. The importance of data literacy (DL) then emerges. The literature has focused on abilities and knowledge needed to build capacity in DL, a complex and unattractive scenario. Critical success factors are also known, but few studies explore strategies to facilitate this transformation with engagement and motivation to develop an efficient DL. This work presents a research to build up a simplified approach to facilitate the journey of DL evolu-tion according to people’s needs or desires. Inspired by the app Waze’s simplicity to conduct drivers, this proposal should consider the level of the actual DL versus the desired one and offer customized journeys to each user profile (data personas) with plainness and creativity. A real-life test is part of the research plan to adjust the proposal strategy from users’ feedback and to monitor its use. Facilitating this journey may promote and increase the scope of DL to each person, society, or organization, stimulating the data value chain flow with more deliveries/solutions, fostering knowledge management, and constructing the dreamed insight-driven culture.
