Mobile Applications In Support and Monitoringof Alzheimer’s Patients

Mobile Applications (apps) have potential to provide better health management support being a representative case the support to the Alzheimer’s patient and respective caregiver. This study has two objectives: (1) content and usability analysis of existing applications and wider solutions for support and monitoring by family or designated person; (2) the proposal and discussion of an architecture able to integrate several sensors and technologies for the development of a support and monitoring solution for the caregiver and Alzheimer’s patient.

The technology necessary for the development of the proposed solution already exists in the market with proven and consistent results, so a solution can be obtained to fulfil many existing needs without implying high operational costs.
