An Optimization Algorithm For The Efficient Distribution of Resources In 6g Verticals
6G mobile networks are envisioned to provide communication services to a large amount of different and heterogenous applications: from traditional phone calls and web navigation to innovative paradigms such as Industry 4.0. Moreover, 6G networks must fulfill very hard requirements: extremely low delays and jitter, high reliability, broadband connections, etc. On the other hand, the number of users of mobile communications grows up exponentially every year, so available network resources are more and more sparse every day. To address this situation and provide high quality services to a massive community of users, only two options are possible: either future 6G networks deploy a huge number of resources as never done before, or new algorithms for the optimum usage of the existing resources must be considered. In this paper we address this challenge and propose an optimization algorithm for the dynamic distribution of resources in future 6G radio access networks. The proposed solution is focused on traditional application scenarios (vertical, using 6G terminology), providing phone calls and web navigation for final users. The algorithm is based on the K-means clustering technology, mobility models and mobile traffic models. A simulation scenario was built and run, in order to validate the proposed solution. The results show thanks to the described mechanism, the required resources for a given Quality-of-Service reduce up to 15%.
